Common questions

Your Questions, Answered

Do you work weekends and public holidays?

Yes, every day of the week including public holidays. A blocked drain doesn't check the calendar, so we don't either.

How do I book?

Phoning (02) 9139 9922 is the quickest route, a time gets set while you're still on the line. Prefer not to talk right now? Pop your details in the form instead and expect a call back soon after.

What happens after I call?

A plumber runs through the symptoms with you over the phone, finds a booking time to suit, and confirms the fixed price face to face once they've had a look at the actual pipe.

What counts as a drain emergency?

Water backing up through a shower or floor waste, a gully spilling onto the lawn, or two or more fixtures out at once. Any of that is worth a call without delay.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

Not for the visit itself. Sending a plumber round to look at the job and price it up won't cost you a thing, work or no work.

What does '$65 off your first service' cover?

$65 gets deducted straight from your first invoice, no matter what drain job it ends up being. There's no other box to tick beyond being a new customer.

How does your upfront fixed pricing work?

Once we've assessed what's needed, we hand you a set price before touching anything. Whatever we run into once we're started, that price stays put.

Do prices change once you start?

It doesn't. Once you've given the go-ahead on a fixed quote, that figure stands regardless of anything unexpected we run into partway through.

Can I clear a blocked drain myself?

Reaching for a plunger or a kettle of hot water is often enough for a minor bathroom or kitchen clog. Anything past that point has to go to a licensed plumber under NSW law.

Do wipes really block drains?

Constantly. Even the ones labelled flushable hold together in the pipe rather than breaking down like toilet paper, and they're a regular culprit behind blocked toilets and sewer runs.

Who is responsible for a blocked sewer, me or Sydney Water?

The short version: Sydney Water looks after the main and the connection point, and you're on the hook for everything past your boundary. Where the fault actually sits is usually something we can figure out for you on site.

Are you licensed and insured?

Correct on both counts. Work is carried out under NSW Plumbing Licence #465156C by licensed plumbers and gas fitters, with cover in place for every job.

How local are you, really?

Our vans pass through Guildford on most weeks of the year, drain job or not. Dennistoun Road and Campbell Hill Pioneer Reserve are both on our usual loop.

What suburbs do you service?

Guildford is the base, with Merrylands, Granville, South Granville, Fairfield and Greystanes covered as well. Unsure whether your street counts? Ring and check.

Can you handle new builds and renovations here?

We do. Older Federation-era cottages still line plenty of Guildford's streets, and we're just as often on a new build, where leftover building debris causes more blockages than tree roots ever do.

Do tree roots cause many blockages around Guildford?

It's a leading cause locally. Established street trees push roots toward the moisture inside older sewer lines, and once they're through a joint, that spot tends to block again unless it's cleared properly.
